Ongoing Projects

The Town House Advisory Group has been meeting regularly since Town Meeting. Our group has been actively involved in creating ways to help improve the building so it will be here and usable for generations to come. The following is a list of projects we are or have been working on.

• On June 26 we had our first annual Clean Up The Town House Day. It was a volunteer activity that produced some significant results. All the windows were cleaned from the inside, all the seating was cleaned, the gallery was vacuumed, the bell tower was swept, the main floor was vacuumed, the light lenses cleaned and areas of repair were identified.

• We are researching the installation of improved bathroom facilities in the future. Through fund raising we hope to move forward on this important issue.

• The front of the building facing the Green including the bell tower will be painted this summer. Each year another exterior wall will be painted.

• A new sound system is needed for both Town Meeting and any other functions. Currently we have been borrowing equipment from one of our local musicians.

• We have formed a marketing sub-committee to actively market the use of the building to residents as well as to people or groups outside of town wishing to rent the space.
