Planning Commission

The Strafford Planning Commission currently consists of nine members appointed by the Selectboard. The duties of the Planning Commission are set forth in 24 V.S.A.§ 4325 and include preparing and amending the Town Plan, zoning bylaws and subdivision regulations, and undertaking studies and making recommendations on matters of land development.

The Planning Commission recently finalized  the Town Plan, which was adopted by the Selectboard August 10, 2011 and confirmed by the  Two Rivers Ottauquechee Regional Planning Commission on September 28, 2011 .  Next steps for the Planning Commission are to unify the zoning and subdivision  regulations using the revised Town Plan as a guide and to consider any necessary changes to our local flood hazard ordinance.

Here is the Draft Zoning and Subdivision Regulations (pdf) as of January 20, 2012
