Pole Treatment Program Information Sheet - CVPS Program begins the week of May 14, 2012
The next regular Selectboard Meeting is Wednesday, May 23 at 7 pm at the Town Office.
The Strafford Selectboard is considering the reconstruction of almost 7 miles of paved roads. These roads include Justin Morrill Highway (3.9 miles), Miller Pond Road (2.4 miles) and Mine Road (0.5 miles). With the very high cost of asphalt, it is not feasible to add an asphalt overlay. The time has come to rebuild the roads from scratch in order control future maintenance costs. The only way to finance a project on this scale, currently estimated at $920,000, is through long-term financing such as a bond. This proposal does not include paving, which would add $2.4 million to the cost of the road reconstruction project, and can be done later.

You will also learn the tentative timeline for this project and how your property taxes will be affected. · When is the Bond vote? An Australian Ballot vote will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. · Why is it important for you to come to a meeting?
